Adapted from Purl Soho, we present to you the Giant Blanket pattern, a KOEL Magazine exclusive pattern – ideal for intermediate and experts!

17 skeins Purl Soho’s Gentle Giant (100% merino wool in white peppercorn)

Tools & Materials
20mm[size 36] circular needle
100cm[40″] long cord

Gauge
8sts x 10rows = 10x10cm
[4×4″] in stockinette stitch

Stitches Used
Knit stitch (=k)
Purl stitch (=p)
Knit 1 Below (=k1b)

k1b: Insert the tip of the right needle into the stitch below the next stitch from front to back, knit normally (wrapping the yarn around the needle and pulling it back through the stitch below) and let the stitch above fall from the left needle.

Instructions
Begin
Cast on 109 stitches.

Continue
1st row 
(wrong side): Slip 1 knitwise, knit to end.
2nd (right side) – 11th row: Slip 1 knitwise, *p1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, p1, k1.
Starting at 12th row: 13 rows of stockinette stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row)

25th row: K1, *p2, k2; rep from * to end of row. 26th row: K1, *k2, p2; rep from * to end of row. Repeat these two rows three times.

Starting at 33rd row: 6 rows of stockinette stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row).

39th row: K1, *p2, k2; rep from * to end of row. 40th row: K1, *k2, p2; rep from * to end of row. Repeat these two rows three times.

Starting at 47th row: 13 rows of stockinette stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row).

60th row: K1, *p2, k2; rep from * to end of row. 61th row: K1, *k2, p2; rep from * to end of row. Repeat these two rows three times.

Starting at 68th row: 6 rows of stockinette stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row).

74th row: K1, *p2, k2; rep from * to end of row. 75th row: K1, *k2, p2; rep from * to end of row. Repeat these two rows three times.

Starting at 82nd row: 13 rows of stockinette stitch (Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row).

95th – 104th row: Slip 1 knitwise, *p1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, p1, k1.

End
Cast off knitwise.
