We are going on vacation with Anne Duramois from Luvaville
and we are we going to… Menorca
It has been a busy year for our family so this summer, we need to relax and just to spend some quality family time. This year's destination is Menorca, a small and a bit quieter Spanish Island than its neighbor Mallorca. Menorca is famous for its wild and unspoiled nature, many beaches and great child-friendly resorts. As we always like to combine our travels with big city escapes, we are stopping over at Barcelona for a few days. This way, we have the perfect combo for a family-friendly beach and city holidays.
Who are you bringing along?
We are going just the four of us: My Husband and my two daughters: Liv & Stella.
Where do you stay?
We have found this nice and charming resort with independent apartments and all the family-friendly facilities that we need to have a relaxing and pleasant stay. When we travel, we like to rent apartments and have a bit more space. This way, we can take it easy during the mornings and be able to do thing even when the girls are at sleep at night. ……..MORE
How do you get there?
What do you bring?
When we travel, we always bring our lightweight stroller, a portable baby chair (in Southern Europe you don't find high chairs in all restaurants, so a must have!), some different games, cameras and our iPad for watching movies and other entertaining.
What can the kids bring?
We always bring some of the girl's favorite toys and something new to open and play with on the plane. Books, puzzles, coloring books and dolls are a must! In their Trunki suitcases, you will also find light summer clothes, many pretty Poppy Rose summer dresses, sun hats, sun screen, sunglasses and sandals.
Where do you usually search for travel ideas?
I always spend time researching on blogs and travel guides for travel ideas but I still love to read "old-fashion" magazines. Magazines like the Condé Nast Traveller is always very inspiring with interesting articles and amazing pictures. We also use our own travel guide and lifestyle blog: Luvaville for city breaks with the children.
Any travel tips?
Take it easy when you travel with kids and don't build up too many expectations. Accept that you can't see all the sights and make an effort to find child-friendly activities in between. Bring or rent the equipment that you need to feel relaxed on your holidays.
What are must-see places in the world according to you?
I think it's important to show my children different cultures and parts of the world. Discovering new places and adventures together as a family is very important to us and as the girls get older I'm sure, we will go many places together. I like them to know different ways of travelling as well, everything from camping, Luxury hotels, road trips, cultural city breaks to beach holidays. There are so many interesting places in the world, but Paris will always have a special place in my heart…..it's the most beautiful city in the world if you ask me!
