I think it might be something reminding us of those early days of our childhoods when letters were very important. Learning to read was crucial! Also, who doesn’t love their own initial in a nice print?

  2. Laura

Well, if you stop and think about it, letters are probably one of our very greatest inventions… they have enabled us to transcend space and time and to communicate remotely with one another… I’d say that’s pretty cool to look at!

  3. bora

i think it may be because letters attempt to bring some sort of order to the world.

  4. mirabelle

there is something beautiful about the shapes that get put together to mean something

  5. Rachael

I think it’s because even just one letter can have so much meaning to someone!

  6. Jennyroo

Classic and timeless. Typography can convey mood, spirit, attitude. Watching my 6 year old discover how to read has reminded me that each letter really is a little big of magic.

  7. Angela

I love letters because they can evoke so many different words–they are ambiguous yet meaningful and, like those here, can be beautiful to boot!

  8. Lauren Guilbeau

I love the colors and designs! Hope to win!

  9. sacha

These are so geometric- there’s is something very tidy and neat about these prints- clean and crisp.

  10. Katie

I agree with Andrea and Laura – they basically took the words right out of my mouth! 🙂 Plus, just one can spark so many memories. And each one is beautiful in and of itself – they really are little works of art (I have a bit of an obsession ;).

I can’t even remember my original answer to the question you posed after getting goosebumps reading the comments here.

I love letter forms so much that I’m currently planning on having the following letters and symbol tattooed on my body: an ampersand in Georgia typeface (because of how that one symbol represents literature and connections and the promise of more) & “A word after a word after a word is power” because of my overwhelming belief in that sentiment as well as my love for Margaret Atwood and the poem from which those words are found.

  12. GED Online

Words can’t say how much I appreciate what you’ve mentioned here… Thanks a lot for this info.

  13. lingonsmak

they are clear, can be colorful or just a big contrast only in black … and then the words … they can say so much 🙂

  14. Staci A

I think they can create such an amazing look, while feeling familiar and fun at the same time.

  15. Veronica

hm… I think people love them because they are so stylish and modern..

  16. marleen

it is the first letter of your name, you can somehow identify with them. is the letter M about me?

  17. Mars

I guess because we are so used to words and letters, that we love them or something like that. I really haven’t got a clue, but I love the prints!

  18. jennifer giacomet inda

everything in the world can be espressado by letters, I think that might be why.

  19. Josep

Just yesterday I bought and old typesetting metal plaque, it was the first I buy in my life. It was an old “g” from the letters of the london underground. I’m no typeface expert, but something in the designt impressed me a lot. The name of my girlfriend and my little sister start with this letter. It may be that. Perhaps I like the fact that it’s nothing by itself, but can be so many things in combination with other letters…

  20. piia

Some do,some don’t,I love typography in general,it’s a creative outlet I dig deep into:)!

  21. Amber

I think typography appeals to so many people because it can be anything you want. I can see something in a letter and my children will see something entirely different. Letter forms don’t overwhelm a space but add to it which is why I am drawn to this type of art work!

  22. Maria

because the letters are always modern, expressive, original, varied, different …..
