Fashion Story with Belinda from Baobab

Fashion Story with Belinda from Baobab

F: Fashion is … a beautiful, creative, stimulating art form and an accessible form of self-expression.

A: Accessories are important because … without them we would have bare feet.

S: Starting our brand was …essential. We had nothing to dress our kids in – at the time.

H: Home to us is … sunny Sydney, Australia.

I: Icons in fashion are to us … Patti Smith, Jane Birkin, Lee Miller, Frida Kharlo to nme a few… all are strong, creative women with inherent style.

O: Over the years we have learned that the most important thing is … to be true to oneself, to produce honest clothing of great quality at an accessible price. It has been a struggle at times but we’re getting there…

N: New ideas often arise when … you open your eyes to all the wonders around you.

S: Style means to us … to be comfortable in your own skin.

T: trade-fairs we like to go to are? …Playtime in Tokyo because … we love Japan. Also looking forward to Kid’s Wear in Berlin.

O: Orders, our breakthrough order came when … we started working with agents both nationally & internationally.

R: Returning trends in fashion are … cyclical. We try not to pay too much attention to trends and produce garments our kids would like to wear.

Y: Years from now we will …be stocked by millions of independent boutiques worldwide…
