Art in the Home of Akkie Bosje

A: Art makes me

Think. It touches and inspires.

{Telephonecards by VANDEJONG}

R: Reading books / blogs / magazines …

There’s is no day without reading. Every book, article or blog is a journey into a new world. Amongst my favourite writers are Martin Bril, Toon Tellegen, Herman van Veen and the grand old lady Hella S. Haasse. Reading blogs is a journey a day, very inspiring. It replaced most magazines.

Favourites; Darling Clementine, Swiss Miss, Nordic Design, Design Observer and Wilfried de Jong. (I’m a huge sports watcher)…………….                                              READ MORE>>>

T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are… On the one hand graphic design is becoming more an strategic art-form, on the other hand there is a kind of revival of the old days (letterpress typography, arts and crafts). It is a great time were everything comes together at the internet. Love all the interaction possibilities. Amazing times.

{House of Cards by Charles and Ray Eames}

A: Artists I admire are… Charles and Ray Eames are still a great source of inspiration. I like the interesting diversity and concepts of Hella Jongerius and really like the athmosphere in the landscapes of painter/actor Jeroen Krabbé, also a great divers person.

{Schiphol by Raimond Wouda}

N: Never will I … Stop having a head full of ideas. ‘There’s never enough time to do all the nothing I want’ -Calvin and Hobbes

{Painting by Anne}

D: Dreams for my own work are about… In the near future I will finally start that blog and I hope to make a whole lot of new illustrations in new books, and maybe one day an exhibition.

P: Projects I'm currently working on are… Setting up a new webshop for a client. I am really pleased to do the webshop design but I have also the great oppertunity to design the collection in it. The shop is sceduled to be launched in September, so I am quite busy…

R: Relaxing I do at / when / if… Like to go to the beach, watch a great movie, visiting a bookstore and I love riding my bike.

I: Interesting art-places online are…

Winterhouse and Phaidon.

N: New in my home is…

Actually nothing, cleaned out a whole bunch of stuff. But have a lot of plans for redecorating. Of course there’s always a new book around.
